What is HonYaks?
(翻訳 (honyaku) is Japanese for translation)
HonYaks is a video game localization community for Professionals and Artisans!
Professionals?
Yep, those who currently work in video game or media localization are welcome to join the herd! This includes Translators, Editors, LQA, Project Managers, Producers, and more! When you fill in our entry form, you will need to let us know your career experience and language pairs.
Ok but, Artisans?
Artisans is our term for those with relevant experience or qualifications who wish to advance or start their career in game localization. This can be an official university degree in languages or translation, or simply volunteer experience on indie releases.
I see, what languages are you open for?
Currently, Yaks is open for both Professionals and Artisans with Japanese source language, and industry veterans with English source language.
(Veterans are professionals with multiple years of freelance video game localization experience, credited works, or currently working in-house at game development/publishing studios.)
